Each month you'll have an opportunity to earn a badge in one of the following categories by contributing an essay on a specific aspect of that category.
When a badge is active that is, accepting contributions, click the term "Focus" to learn the specific requirements. Click a participant's name to read an individual's contribution to the topic. (Samples shown are smaller than actual badges awarded.)
Disasters:
Sinking of the Titanic, explosion of Hindenburg dirigible, San Francisco's two big earthquakes, Exxon Valdez oil spill, massive hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and many other disasters occurred during the 20th Century.
For the December badge, choose a disaster — maybe one in your local community or one with international ramifications — and mew with us about it. In addition to a badge you can display proudly, you will earn 125-250 service points.

MULTI-CAT FAMILIES PLEASE NOTE:
Because of their special nature, Badges points are not awarded in total to all members but are divided out among all members. For example, if a family has six members, and 150 points are awarded for a particular badge, each member will be awarded 25 points. If the submission is made in the name of only one family member, that member will be awarded the full 150 points.
MULTIPLE ENTRIES:
Any kitty who chooses may make more than one submission for a particular badge. Points will be added for each entry, but only one badge graphic will be awarded.
